JAMIE OLIVER’S KITCHEN KIT GROWS
(11.05.10)
DKB Household will be unveiling 'Jamie Oliver’s Kitchen Kit' at the show this year, which builds on Jamie’s mantra of "you need good kit to make good food."
The new range aspires to include all the essential tools needed to make great food at home, and Jamie Oliver has been personally involved, along with his food development team, in every aspect of the design.

"It is fantastic being able to work with Jamie Oliver on this range of products. The brainstorm sessions that are a key part of the development process often bring up clever solutions to doing things, and it is these that help the range stand out from the competition. Consumers can be sure that when buying an item from the range that they are taking home something that Jamie has really been involved with and would use himself," commented Grant Race, director of marketing at DKB Household.

The new range line up includes both core range extensions and some new categories too. Designed in house by DKB and Jamie Oliver the collection of products embodies a mix of practicality and contemporary styling.

Jamie’s 'Essential Hanging Tools' is the first of the new categories for 2010 and includes a slotted turner, a slotted fish slice, ladle with pouring lip, serving spoon and straining spoon. All are manufactured from brushed stainless steel with soft touch handle detail. They have been designed with ease of use in mind and Jamie has himself determined the angles and shapes of each tool.

These are complemented by a stainless steel potato masher, which includes an innovative silicone bowl scraper feature and a pair of stainless steel tongs with locking switch for easy storage.

The stainless steel tool collection is completed by a stylish 550mm long hanging rail with hooks so that the tools can be both displayed and kept in easy reach for use.

New additions to the gadget line-up include a can opener and innovative 'twist and slide' apple corer. The latter incorporates a clever twisting lower handle with in-built pusher to easily remove cores.

A firm favourite of Jamie's and high on his wish list of essential tools are a pair of acid etched graters. These feature a sturdy metal frame with ultra sharp stainless steel grating blades (available in coarse and fine options), a blade guard for safe storage and angled soft touch handles.

Jamie’s popular knives launched last year, are now joined by a steel carving fork and the 'Groovy' chopping board. Made from quality beech wood, the board features a smooth side and a grooved side with in-built drainage channels, making it ideal for carving and cutting wet foods and meats.

And last but not least, the DKB line-up will this year be complemented by an old favourite of Jamie's, a 160mm diameter pestle and mortar in polished dark granite.

"I’m really pleased with all the kitchen kit products that the guys at DKB have developed over the years. I hope you’ll like the new tools and gadgets we’re introducing this year as much as I do," said Jamie.

All the products, along with those launched last Summer, will be on display at the show. DKB has a wide range of in-store retail solutions for the Jamie Oliver Kitchen Kit, including freestanding display units, in-store video monitors featuring Jamie demonstrating all the kit and a whole host of other great initiatives designed to help support retail sales - take a look for yourself on stand 110!
