LAKELAND RUNS INITIATIVE AT SHOW
(02.06.10)
BHETA members are being encouraged to discuss new ideas with Lakeland.

"However carefully you shop a show, for one reason or another, there are always those niche products you miss or or suppliers you don’t work with," explains Lakeland’s director of buying, Matthew Canwell.

In response, the Exclusively Housewares team has arranged for Lakeland to have a private meeting room set aside on the first day of the show, Tuesday 8th June, where Lakeland chief Martin Rayner will be available to see anybody with a new idea.

All Exclusively Housewares exhibitors and BHETA members have been invited to make an appointment in which to pitch their products if they believe they have the right product for Lakeland.

Each company can request a 20 minute slot and are guaranteed complete confidentiality.

"You don’t even need a finished product to take part. We work with people at all stages of development," said Matthew, "so all you need is a great idea."

As well as protecting its investments in new products, the secrecy surrounding the project is part of a guarantee that Lakeland gives to manufacturers wanting to participate in its The Next Big Thing initiative. All appointments come with a guarantee of absolute confidentiality.
