LIVE URBAN STREET ART FROM BRABANTIA!
Brabantia, well known for fusing beautiful design with innovative functionality is offering the exciting opportunity to meet and even design with the creator of its latest limited edition ‘London’ Retro Bin, a fantastic tribute to the British capital in 2012 as the nation celebrates the Diamond Jubilee and London Olympic Games.
Exclusively Housewares stand 446 will be a hub of activity with live streaming of Joran Van der Haar in action, and exclusive interviews with key buyers on this season’s biggest trends and answering the question just what makes beautiful design useful design? – all captured by the Brabantia TV crew. Visitors to the stand will have the chance to design with Joran and see their creations projected on plasma screens!
Joran Van der Haar, winner of Brabantia’s 2010 Iron in Style competition, designed the striking ‘London’ Retro Bin featuring iconic symbols from the capital including Big Ben, the Queen and the Eros statue, a must-have for street and urban art fans.
He said: “To be in London, the city that inspired my design, and to meet UK buyers, at a time of such historic and landmark occasions, is a true honour. My work is inspired by everything I experience in daily life. Images from magazines, commercials, graffiti, comics and visual art - the way I fuse these images with my imagination sets my work apart.”
David Slater, sales director at Brabantia, said: “Exclusively Housewares is one of the most important events of the year and a great opportunity to meet with our customers and talk to them about their requirements. Our Brabantia TV crew will be interviewing select industry leaders to promote their thoughts about ‘what makes beautiful design useful design?’ It’s a superb opportunity to source the thought leadership of key retailers - ensuring we continue to create beautiful and practical houseware that meets and exceeds the needs of the market.”
Brabantia will also showcase other products from its 2012 housewares range, from the head-turning Cherry Blossom and Gecko ironing board covers to ingenious safe-spacing kitchen organisers, motion control mechanisms for bins and colourful new covers for rotary and wall-fix dryers. Come and visit the stand to see the whole range.
